Egg Freezing and Sperm Freezing

Freezing your eggs or sperm can give you more options for building your family in the future. At Tripod, our team is dedicated to providing you with the tools, knowledge, and treatments to make empowered decisions. We can’t stop the biological clock, but we can help take the pressure off.
An Egg Freezing cycle involves stimulating the ovaries to produce the highest number of eggs you can safely make in one month. Depending on the number and quality of your eggs, you may need more than 1 cycle to achieve your family building goals. The entire process from your first consult to freezing your eggs takes about 2-3 months.
What to expect
Discovery Consult
- Meet one of our specialists to discuss your medical history and family building goals and learn about the egg freezing process.
Assessment
- Come to the clinic for a blood test and ultrasound to discover your current reproductive potential.
Personalized Treatment Plan
- Meet with your specialist to review your results and develop a personalized plan for your egg freezing cycle.
Preparation and Education
- In the month leading up to your cycle, you’ll meet our fertility preservation team to review the egg freezing process and how to self-administer medication. Our goal for this month is to ensure you move forward with your treatment feeling confident and at ease.
Cycle Monitoring & Ovarian Stimulation
- Once your egg freezing cycle starts, you’ll be taking injectable medication to grow multiple eggs and suppress ovulation. This will take around 10-14 days. During this phase, you’ll need 3-6 morning appointments to monitor your progress with blood tests and internal ultrasounds. Once the eggs reach an optimal size and number, you’ll take a final injection to prepare you for the egg retrieval.
Egg Retrieval
- The Egg Retrieval is a 15-30 minute procedure inside our Operating Room. At Tripod, we have an Anesthetist to provide deep sedation and ensure you are comfortable and free of pain.
Egg Freezing
- Your eggs will be frozen on the same day they are retrieved. Our embryologists will let you know how many eggs were frozen.
Egg Storage
- Once frozen, you can feel secure that your eggs are being safely stored at our clinic until you’re ready to use them in the future.
Sperm freezing is a simple process that allows you to save sperm for future use. The entire process from your first consult to freezing your sperm can be done in less than a month.

Assessment
- Come to the clinic for a semen analysis to discover your current reproductive potential.
Personalized Treatment Plan
- Meet with your specialist to review your results and determine how many sperm samples need to be frozen to meet your family building goals.
Sperm Collection & Freezing
- You will produce a sperm sample in one of our collection rooms at the clinic. An embryologist will assess your sample right away. If the sample looks good, they will proceed to freezing the sperm on the same day.
Sperm Storage
- Once frozen, you can feel secure that your sperm is being safely stored at our clinic until you’re ready to use it in the future.
Egg Freezing
$5500
An Egg Freezing cycle involves stimulating the ovaries to produce the highest number of eggs you can safely make in one month. The eggs are retrieved from the body, frozen, and stored for future use.
Depending on your protocol and body’s response to stimulation, medication would be an additional $5000-7000.

Sperm Freezing
$700
A sperm sample can be produced in one of the collection rooms at the clinic. On the same day as sample production, the sperm will be frozen and stored for future use.
