Our specialized services program focuses on the care of patients who experience recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and recurrent implantation failure (RIF). RPL refers to the occurrence of 2 or more consecutive miscarriages. RIF refers to the unsuccessful implantation of 2 or more good quality embryos after embryo transfer. These cases are extremely delicate, requiring extra care and compassion. In the midst of this loss, our program’s mission is to stay open-minded, curious, and hopeful.
There are many factors which can contribute to RPL or RIF, including immune anomalies that can influence pregnancy and fetal development. We are one of the only clinics in Canada to specialize in the field of reproductive immunology. Testing and treatment can all be done on site, including Intralipid infusions, Humira, Lymphocyte Immunization Therapy (LIT), and Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIg).
Our program starts with a comprehensive assessment of the factors which contribute to miscarriage or unsuccessful implantation. Testing, treatment, and timelines can vary depending on your specific circumstances, but a general guideline can be found below.

- Consultation with one our specialists
- Comprehensive assessment which can include pelvic ultrasound, sonohysterogram, hormonal bloodwork, pre-implantation genetic testing of embryos, endometrial biopsy, immune and thrombotic (blood clot) testing
Personalized Treatment Plan
- Review of results to determine a personalized treatment plan
- Treatment of any underlying issues which can include targeted antibiotic therapies and specialized treatments for reproductive immune system imbalances
- Possible retesting to see if the treatment was successful
Conception Planning & Ongoing Pregnancy Monitoring
- Preparing for pregnancy, whether through natural conception or with the support of fertility treatments
- Once pregnant, we provide close pregnancy monitoring throughout the first trimester
